About Us

Simply put, we are God’s family. Glorify our gracious God through heartfelt biblical obedience while extending His Kingdom by living and proclaiming His saving Truth to a lost world.

GBC Defined

  • Grace: It is by God’s grace that we’re even here. God, in His gracious providence has brought together this body of believers to exalt His son, Jesus Christ – the One whose death and resurrection gives us peace with God and the hope of heaven. His grace is the common thread that runs through every ministry and expression of worship here at Grace Bible Church.
  • Bible: The singular source of God’s wisdom, truth, and His revealed will to man.  As such, we turn to His Word for direction and instruction for how to obediently conduct ourselves, our ministries and our worship all towards the purpose of our mission which is to glorify God and extend His Kingdom.
  • Church: Church is paramount because of its absolute uniqueness. While “Grace” and “Bible” were our choice in defining who we are, “Church” is mandated by God – as revealed in His Word. It is His designation for the assembly of people called by His name. As such, our course has been charted by God; our destiny has been planned by God; our members have been chosen by God; our purposes have been defined by God.  It is from a Biblical understanding of Church, that we also begin to understand the purposes and blessings of belonging to the body of Christ in this life as we eagerly await our Savior’s glorious return!

Who We Are

Grace Bible Church is a covenant community of like minded believers in the image of Acts 4:32-37.  We strive to hold no worldly possession as singularly our own, but as stewards blessed by God with His gifts, hold all we have been given as potential tools to lift up one another, educate and train the body of believers, bolster and send forth the ministry of evangelism, love with excellence our neighbors and community, as God expands His Kingdom by way of our faithful obedience and use of His gifts.

What Do We Mean by Covenant Community?

Community is not a term used lightly. It suggests both genuine fellowship within our church family and an open door to those around us. As members of one body, we seek to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesian 4:3). As a light in our community, we’re a place of peace for those in chaos, a place of forgiveness for the guilty, and a place of hope for the hopeless.  A covenant simply understood is a contract. An Ecclesiastical Covenant is a solemn agreement between the members of a church to act together in harmony with the precepts of the gospel.  So we at Grace Bible Church are a people redeemed by God through his Son Jesus Christ, brought into service to the Kingdom of God by His grace as brothers and sisters in Christ, bearing one another’s burdens, sharpening one another’s faith, and celebrating God’s blessings in each others lives.

Meet our Team

Wally Waldrop

Senior Pastor

Michael “Wally” Waldrop answered the call to Ministry in 2004. After graduating from Ouachita Baptist University with a Ministry and Counseling Degree, he accepted a position as a Campus Youth Pastor at Liberty Christian School in Argyle, then Denton, Texas. For two years he cut his “Ministry Teeth” on teaching various Bible Courses, extra-scholastic Bible Studies, coordinating and running service projects, mission trips to Jamaica, Honduras, and Guatemala, as well as Student Retreats such as a week long canoeing, hiking, cliff jumping extravaganza known as the  Wilderness Trip. In 2006 Wally accepted a position at a small church in Justin, Texas to develop and direct a youth group. During the first 7 years God blessed that youth ministry beyond what he and his wife Kelly could imagine. He also returned to Liberty Christian School working bi-vocationally, teaching Christian Humanities for the next 5 years, instructing Seniors in areas of Essential Doctrine, Christian Ethics, Apologetics and World Religions. Meanwhile the Church’s Youth ministry continued to grow and it birthed needs for a Collegiate Ministry, and a Young Adult Ministry, alongside the Youth Group ministry and so Wally stepped away from teaching within a school setting once more, and accepted an Associate Minister role.

After almost 16 total years, of being blessed to work within the same local church, God came calling again and after much prayerful fasting, wisdom seeking via mentors and a like minded peace with his wife, Wally accepted the call to become a church planter. In 2022 Wally accepted a staff position at the Well in Argyle as the Resident Church Planter. He prepared for this new calling as he sat in on staff meetings, joined the Pastoral team in Spiritual care for the flock via Preaching, continued to teach Youth as needed, and ran a large group study for those planning to plant alongside he and his wife. Wally also attended and graduated a year long Church Planters Cohort Class through the Denton Baptist Association during this time. In February of 2023 Grace Bible Church was launched, with a handful of Faithful Covenant Members. GBC now enters its 5th year by God’s grace.

Wally’s mission is and has always been to teach by way of careful exposition, the full counsel of the Word of God, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the sake of salvation of the lost, sanctification of the believer by exhortation to obedience of the Word, while encouraging the children of God to joyfully with all gratitude look towards the glorification of all believers upon Christ’s return!

Alongside Wally, since 2007, joining Him in this journey has been his beautiful, Godly, P31 bride Kelly Waldrop. Kelly with a true servants heart tends to many various ministerial needs within Grace Bible Church. She can be found in teaching GBCKids! on a Sunday morning, opening her home to Women of the Word, or meeting with fellow sisters in Christ throughout GBC for prayer and fellowship.

Kelly and Wally also have three amazing children who love the Lord, Love His Word, and Love to serve Him. The twins Gideon and Abigail are active in thePOINT Youth Ministry. They enjoy Wednesday night Bible Study, student retreats, and “Unashamed” Outings with their friends. Gracie Rose loves learning, singing and fellowshipping with her friends in GBCKids!

Andrew Collinsworth

Associate Pastor

Andrew was born in Dallas and has lived in the North Texas area his entire life. He is married to Cristina, his wife since 2019, and together they are currently the foster parents of one child. Andrew completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Texas and earned his Master’s Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.

During his time in seminary, Andrew served as the weekly Wednesday night Bible study teacher and as a Sunday School teacher at Parkway Hills Baptist Church, while also leading an additional young adults Bible study. He regularly provided pulpit supply for churches in need of a preacher, which is how he first connected with Hibbit Baptist Church. In 2020, he accepted the pastorate at Hibbit Baptist Church and served there faithfully until 2022, which is when he then transitioned to Grace Bible Church to serve as pastor/elder, a role in which he continues today.

Andrew’s ministry is rooted in a love for expository preaching and a desire to shepherd God’s people with clarity, compassion, and biblical conviction. He counts it a joy and privilege to shepherd the members of Grace Bible Church, and his greatest desire is to see Christ glorified in the church and in every believer’s daily life.

Andrew loves spending quality time with Cristina, their foster child, and their two dogs, whether it’s relaxing at home, enjoying the outdoors, or exploring new places together. He also enjoys reading, discipling men through Scripture, street evangelism, and anything that centers on Christ and His Word. Outside of ministry, he is an avid Dallas Mavericks fan.
